For the next 12 months we as a church family are trusting in the God of miraculous multiplication. What if by April 2026 the following had happened:

To see ‘the Holy Spirit move through a new story of multiplication’ is in our vision statement and to be who we are as a community which means for our church and land we are to be generous with what’s in our hands. We sense we are being invited to look at our loaves and fishes and ask the question : What’s in our basket?

We are inviting us all as a church to look at what’s in our basket around TIME, TALENTS & TREASURE

TIME:

BOILER ROOMS: For some of us we love to pray; WE NEED YOU. We need prayer to be the foundations of our church as we grow and multiply. New spaces and places of prayer to cover and carry us forward as we step out in faith (or R.I.S.K as John Wimber once said!) Charles Spurgeon would often speak of boiler rooms in his church, where 100 people gather underground and pray over everything happening in the church. Rise up you prayer warriors!

REACHING OUT TO THE CITY: For others, the invitation on our time is to reach out to the city of Inverness. Our hearts ache for those who don’t know Jesus. To be Jesus un these places. Street evangelism, giveaways, miracle question, events, alpha. Your heart burns for the sharing of the good news of Jesus. Its even stirring as you read this. This is your invitation on your time.

WHEREVER THERE IS A NEED: And finally some of us we can give TIME and its ‘tell me what to do’. You are willing to put your hand to the plough, plug gaps, meet a need, step in, serve and provide a strengthening arm to everything going on in the church, this is vital.

TALENTS:

IT MIGHT BE HELPFUL TO KNOW, I CAN… There is an invitation to not hide our talents but bring them into the light to be a blessing in the innerworkings of the church family and out with as we reach out. Seeing it used and contributing in the multiplication miracle. It could be things like: Cook for large numbers , play the guitar, babysit, gardening, joinery, fix computers, take really good pictures. What talent is to be a blessing?

A DREAM OF MINE IS…… This very church was once a dream. It was a dream that was spoken into reality and it took years to see it happen. Was it easy? NO. Did it come at a cost? YES. Was there times we felt like giving up? MORE THAN YOU WOULD EVER KNOW. But look at what the Lord has done with a dream that he planted.

What has he put in you? That is to be spoken out? A church? A charity? A ministry idea? To be a missionary? Start a new life group? Get alongside addicts? Work in the prison system breaking the pattern of reoffending, tackle loneliness and provide a space to connect. To teach and love our teens in challenging times, to start a band, to create an app, to write a book, to write a song. To create a business that houses the homeless, social enterprise.  What is the dream? What is to be spoken out? What would the Lord have planted in you to be placed in the basket? 

TREASURE:

I WILL INCREASE MY GIVING BY….. / I HAVE A ONE OFF GIFT OF…. : Financially, we need provision for the vision ahead. Its not enough just the talents and time we need our treasure in the basket too. Monies not realising their purpose that could be sown into his hands to multiply out in greater measure.

So we are asking come to the Lord and ask the generosity question with our finances. Am I being generous in my giving?

Wouldn’t it be great to find a really good venue for Alpha and get really great caterers? Wouldn’t it be great to invest more in our children and youth. Wouldn’t it be great for a dream in this room  to be equipped financially by the church if the Lord joined the dots? Wouldn’t it be great to have a permanent space to pray in the boiler room? 

NEXT STEPS:

2 WEEKS PRAYER AND FASTING: Over the next 2 weeks we will pray and fast together. Heres an idea of what it will look like:

• We are inviting everyone from this moment to journey fasting something everyday over the 2 weeks until the 6th April. A meal, coffee, TV, certain phone apps. We want to go hungry from the things of the world to get hungry for the things of God. I spoke on fasting afew years ago and it would be an ideal starting point to the 2 weeks. Click here.
• There will short videos shared on Instagram through the 2 weeks (even if you dont have Instagram you can watch by scrolling down on our homepage.)
• We will be sharing out the Fast Friday email to the whole church on the next two Fridays. So look out in your inbox.
• We will continue to gather for prayer on the Wednesday mornings, 6.30am. Join us here.
• We will also have a dedicated prayer meeting for this Vision on Wednesday 2nd April at Millburn Academy at 7.30pm to 8.30pm. If you have a life group then we are inviting you to press pause on it on that week.

6TH APRIL PLEDGE SUNDAY: On this day we will climb the mountainside as the little boy did with his loaves and fishes, get it infront of Jesus, not listen to the earthly limitations or the doubt on what the Lord has said and place it into his hands. There will be a big basket and we will place our pledges into it and believe the Lord to use it miraculously ! From that point its trusting the faith steps and what the Lord would be inviting each of us into and how it will outwork itself over the coming 12 months.

Its a huge faith step but we believe in the God of the immeasurably more of what we ask and imagine.
