WELCOME

“We are a group of ordinary people going on an adventure with an extraordinary God.”

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” jeremiah 29:11

Adventure is an exciting word and always conjures up images of the unknown, the risk takers and fearless individuals that pursue the unthinkable and reach the unimaginable that we would all like to be in one way or another. As we have moved to Inverness to start a new church we believe that every single one of us has a life changing adventure to step into that is waiting to be unveiled by God. This will not only impact our life, but the people around us and ultimately our city.

We are a church that was planted from a  huge vision for this nation (click here for more info), and we would love to explore and journey with you whether you have been to church hundreds of times in the past or never been to church and explored faith. We would so love to connect with you and hear your story. As we start this brand new church  why not come along, check us out and try church? You can read our heart and vision for our brilliant city of Inverness in the ‘about us’ section below and see what’s going on in the life of our church here, and who knows you may just want to stick around with us for the adventure.

We look forward to meeting you,

Thomas & Mhairi Urquhart

ABOUT US

“A place where people come alive.”

“Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.” EZEKIEL 37:4

The vision of Inverness Vineyard Church is to be “a place where people come alive.” We believe that when people encounter Jesus, the adventure in life really begins. That we come alive and begin to step into an exciting future and the promise of eternal life spent with God, that impacts not only our lives but the life of the city. To do that we will try to keep these eight important values at the core of who we are and in everything we do:

RELEVANT //  living a faith filled life in a way that people can relate to that is accessible whatever your background or experience of church or God.
FUN // church is to be fun and enjoyed! we don’t take ourselves seriously but we take god seriously.
THE HOLY SPIRIT // WE LOVE GODS PRESENCE TO HEAL, SAVE, AND SEE MIRACLES THAT ARE SO UNDENIABLY HIM, WE LOVE THAT HE USES US IN HIS MISSION.
ADVENTURE // being a people who are bold, take risks and invite people to join IN WITH US at every opportunity.
worship // BEING A PEOPLE WHO SING SONGS TO GOD, NOT FOR ANYTHING IN RETURN BUT TO REMIND US AFRESH OF HIS GREAT LOVE FOR US.
THE BIBLE // we believe in the power and authority of the bible and we will teach from it regularly, it’s as relevant today as it’s ever been.
FAMILY // we want people to not just be part of a crowd but part of a life giving, honest, real community. there is a place for everybody.
SERVE // We will be a group of people passionate and deliberate about loving and serving our city, the NATION AND THE NATIONS.

SUNDAYS

“Come as you are…”

EVERY WEEK: SUNDAY SERVICES

We have weekly meetings on Sunday mornings Our service starts at 10.30am and we meet at Millburn Academy, Diriebught Rd, Inverness IV2 3QR.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our Sunday service starts at 10.30 am, but we’d love you to join us for a cup of tea or coffee just anytime from 10am. It’s a informal, relaxed environment. When we start, you can expect a few songs of sung worship together as a church family. We have musicians who will lead this and the words will be up on a big screen at the front so you can join in if you want but no pressure!

From 10.45am for children between 9 months – pre-school, we run a fun programme called Vineyard TOTS where the kids get to hear about God in a relevant manner to them and for primary school aged kids we run an action packed (and sometimes messy!) kids programme called Vineyard KIDS.

When the children are through having fun, we will worship together a bit longer and then someone will read from the bible and give a short, relevant talk. Then we will have the opportunity to receive prayer following this. At the end of our service we always without fail will have tea, coffees and goodies to share together.

LAST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH: RISE BREAKFAST

For the last Sunday of the month, we run a breakfast drop in at Millburn Academy, 10.30am-12pm . We have a heart for this space to be highly relational and also a space where we can explore Jesus in a relaxed more informal setting. We have breakfast goodies, teas and coffees, a Vineyard TOTS drop in for parents and pre-school age children from 10.45am and games for the youth.

There will be an opportunity to hear about whats going on in the life of the church, a short time of worship together as well as listening or watching a short talk (typically 5-10mins) to take away for the week ahead.

____________________________________________________________________

We warmly welcome anyone and everyone no matter where you are in your journey of faith – whether you have been a Christian for a long time or you are just exploring. Come and say hi, we would love to meet you!

COMMUNITY

We want to be community, not a crowd and small groups are one of the most important parts of going on the adventure here at Inverness Vineyard Church. They are typically groups of 10-12 people that meet through the week at somebody’s house. It’s a pit stop in our week amongst friends and a chance to journey intentionally and honestly as we pursue lives lived for Jesus.

We eat together, laugh together, cry together, worship Jesus together, serve together and do life together. Through the highs and lows, the joys and the struggles, it’s so important we have a smaller group of people who know exactly what we are going through to encourage us and point us to God.

We have 4 groups that meet in the city and shire at the moment, on different nights of the week. We would love you to find a group that fits, and start heading along – it really will play an important part in calling Inverness Vineyard home.

JOIN IN

“We would love everyone to pick up a piece of the jigsaw.”

We can’t do it without you! We believe that everybody has a part to play in the mission of Inverness Vineyard church and we would love everybody to find a place to serve, pick up their piece as we put together the picture of the church God wants us to become.

In these early days whether its being on logistics helping set up on Sundays, serving coffees before and after the service, welcoming people at the car park, serving with our brilliant Kids and Tots teams – once you know this is your spiritual home, we would love you to find a place to serve as soon as you can. We have found it will help you get to know folk, and also make Inverness Vineyard church feel more like home for you and others you connect with.

Perhaps you have only just joined us and are eager to get your sleeves rolled up?! Not to worry, we have 2 areas folk that can get involved in right from the beginning. See below for details and get in touch to sign up!
