“A place where people come alive.”
“Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.” EZEKIEL 37:4
The vision of Inverness Vineyard Church is to be “a place where people come alive.” We believe that when people encounter Jesus, everything changes. We have seen story after story of what was dry, coming to life. What seemed hopeless, being filled with purpose once again. This line is like the tagline of our wee church, a bit like ‘holy ambition’ that Paul speaks of in Romans 15. The unwrapping of this tagline brings a vision of what we will do and be as Inverness Vineyard Church.
Vision Statement: ‘ We are to be a growing, expectant, pioneering community, following and sharing Jesus in our everyday lives whilst being generous with what’s in our hands. We choose to be a people that don’t settle but are hungry for the advancement of God’s kingdom in every space and place so that in our time through the power of the Holy Spirit there would be a new story of multiplication. We long to see the planting of churches, the raising and equipping of leaders and the lost redeemed and restored for the sake of our city, our nation and the generations to come.’
As well as our Vision Statement above, which describes what we do as a church, we have nine ‘Values’: words and phrases that describe how we do what we do. These words are vital in everything we look to do as a church.
They are:
Fantastic church! Visited yesterday for the first time.
Warm welcome – within seconds of stepping into the church space.
In no particular order: Great hospitality, good coffee, delicious food, elevating worship, welcoming kids work and an inspiring, Christ centered, Biblical talk from, a very clearly and fired up man of God! May the Lord anoint, bless and unite you all as the Lord continues to grow and transform Inverness as you all play your part in His kingdom. Clearly a church were God is bringing people alive in Christ. Psalm 91 over you all.
Hi Guys
I wanted to get in touch with you to thank you for recognising and supporting the work of Home for Good. It’s such an encouragement as we are in these early days of work here in Scotland. Mhairi – I don’t know if you’ll remember me from the East Church YF back in the day. I actually bumped into your brother at Runrig last year! Anyway, it’s lovely to connect with you. We have had such great support from Vineyard, especially in Aberdeen and also across in Northern Ireland so it would be great to work with you. Maybe I could catch you for a coffee one day when I’m next in Inverness. Eilidh
